The Hunter Museum of American Art is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Located right near the walking bridge, the Hunter is definitely one of the more well-known icons in Chattanooga. Right on the waterfront, the building is a beautiful piece of modern and classic architecture that hosts some stunning views for any of its guests.
Back in August I had the priviledge of coordinating a wedding within this venue and now I cannot speak highly enough of it for brides who want a unique, modern venue with the opportunity to get married overlooking the Tennessee River.
Despite the fact that the Hunter is a functioning museum, there are many options for making the museum meld with your unique wedding day style. The lobby is a beautiful neutral enviroment that would meld with countless color schemes and wedding visions.
During my experience working an event with the Hunter, I was consistently impressed with the quality of the staff, their organization, and how easy they were to work with to make the couple's vision come true. Even though we battled some serious rain, the Hunter staff still managed to help me get the outdoor ceremony set up and remained calm during the stress of it all.
For the bride and groom, there is even the chance to go into the exhibit portions of the museum and capture some wonderfully unique photos.
The only downside to an event at the Hunter is that either the bride or the groom has quite a trek to the room where they are able to hang out and get ready before the ceremony starts. It's essential to add buffer time into your wedding day timeline in order to stay on time and not become stressed because of this walk.
All in all, I highly recommend the Hunter. For a bride who wants a unique location, beautiful views, and staff set on making your day as unstressful as possible, working with the Hunter comes highly recommended in my book.
Would you ever get married in a museum?
