In October I had the privilege of participating in Charleston's Big Fake Wedding. For those unfamiliar with the concept, the Big Fake Wedding is a bridal show alternative in the form of a big fake wedding. There is a short and sweet vow renewal and the wedding guests are brides-to-be and their friends looking to see local vendors in action. Yesterday the event was featured on Ruffled's blog, so now I'm free to share the photos of my work with you!
The theme for this event was Stargazer. The vendors were encouraged to be inspired by the colors, patterns, and designs of the night sky. It was really fun to find ideas for my table designs and work on some really unique designs that I'm not typically asked to do. To unite each of my tables, I hand painted globes for each of them as the primary element of the centerpiece. I really enjoyed picking quotes that united both love and the stars!
I also enjoyed making paper flowers in colors that I don't normally have an excuse to play with - most of the time I make paper flowers in pinks and reds, so pulling out the deep blue and black crepe papers was a really fun creative boost!
I really enjoyed being able to meet and work with the other talented vendors that participated in the event! I'll be tagging the ones that you can see in these photos below, and then you can check out the Ruffled post for the complete list!
Would you do a stargazer themed wedding?
For the registration table (where the guests checked in) I knew I needed a banner to help set the mood. I'm so glad I got to collaborate with Shelly from the Banner Sisters. She created the perfect banner to hang across the front of the table!
I was really honored when Danetra from Swank Desserts asked me if I had any extra paper flowers that she could use on her beautiful cake. I was so happy that I'd thought to bring some with me just in case!
Separate from the Stargazer theme, each vendor got their own table which they were able to decorate according to their branding and allow their personalities to shine through. I had a lot of fun putting together my brightly colored table! (The bride and groom are cake toppers from BHLDN 3 years ago. I don't think they have them anymore.)
