I know I cannot be the only one who, when something really bad or hurtful happens, too easily forgets all of the good things that have also been happening. The same can be said for when life gets super stressful - it can be easy to forget about the good things that happened before stress hit or the exciting things waiting for you on the other side of the stress.
Today I just want to encourage all of us to rejoice in the little victories - everything from wearing your favorite pair of shoes to the huge job offer you may have received!
Rejoice in the antics of your cat or the piece of snail mail you remembered to send someone just because. Celebrate completing a book you've been reading or getting in that 30 minute walk you keep meaning to incorporate into your daily routine.
All of these things make up our day-to-day lives, yet we often pass these victories by and focus on how that deadline is still looming ahead.
True, celebrating these little moments - noticing them, breathing them in - will not stop the deadline from arriving. I bet it will, however, make the journey towards that deadline much better than if we have tunnel vision. Don't you agree?
