Recap: Goals for July
Make sure I have all of my timelines, paperwork, and final meetings either set up or checked off for all of my August brides. Make sure that my day-of kit is packed and replenished from previous events and that I am 100% ready to hit the ground in August. - Except for checking in with vendors and a few minor details I feel completely ready to go! August is going to be a great wedding month! I am so excited!
Continue developing my calligraphy skills. - I'm really enjoying developing this skill. I'm still not in love with all of my letter shapes, but I've been seeing them improve with practice, so that's been encouraging!
Complete my site refresh. This place just needs a little sprucing up and polishing here and there so that it's even easier to navigate and understand what it is and what I'm about. - This is in the works! Final touches are being made and the rest of the changes should be appearing over the next week. Stay tuned!
Take a week off and go visit my grandparents in Oklahoma. My immediate family will be meeting us there, and most of my extended family lives within a close range. Michael has met some, but not all, of them, so this will be a whirlwind exciting trip. (If you want to get first-hand peeks at what we're doing, feel free to follow me on Instagram! @paperswallowevents) - Our trip was SO GOOD, and way too short! You can check out a few photos on Instagram (@paperswallowevents) with #PowBasOK2014. I'll be sharing more when I finish editing those photos. :)
Enjoy the two-way 12-hour road trip that visiting Oklahoma will take Michael + me on. I'm actually really looking forward to being on the road together. Long car rides are one of our favorite things to do together! - Our road trip was so good. We talked about so much and nailed down so many goals for the future. I'm eagerly anticipating our next road trip!
Try and new recipe or two; I've been in a cooking rut. Any suggestions?? (Extra points if it's already gluten free!) - Done! I made a fruit crumble dessert and a quinoa stuffed zucchini meal, which were both really good. I think I'm going to need to try more stuffed zucchini recipes soon!
Continue developing and shaping some pretty big projects I have in mind for this fall. (Sorry, that's all I can say for now. ;) - Progress has definitely been made! ;)
Reach out to people more. Do the scary thing and put myself and this business out there. Also reach out and schedule fun things with friends. - I'm putting myself out there and growing a lot. The future is getting really exciting! Also, never underestimate the power of a simple coffee date with a good friend.
Unplug more, continue to remember to hydrate + stretch frequently. - I did not do the best at this one. It's a learning curve, I guess. I intend to keep putting this one on my monthly lists. Do any of you have tips for unplugging/remembering to hydrate?
Read #Girlboss. - Our library doesn't have it! Can you believe that?! I put a request in, but haven't heard back from them yet. I may end up buying it...
This month there is a lot of business excitement and craziness happening that is either a) too complicated to fit into a concise goal, or b) something I can't share with you yet, so I am sharing some of my non-business related goals for the month with you instead!
Road trip (!) to Charleston to reunite with some of Michael + my dearest friends. Michael is a groomsman in a wedding, and I'm helping coordinate. It should be a great weekend full of joy for the couple and laughter among good friends. (Plus, we adore Charleston and have some special memories of it from our honeymoon.)
Enjoy a couple days with Michael's childhood BFF on our way back from Charleston. We haven't seen this guy since our wedding and we're looking forward to hanging out with him during a less hectic period of time.
Skype with some of my favorite inspiring and creative people. Encourage one another, bounce ideas off each other, and enjoy the blessing of having such amazing friends.
Continue learning to unplug more often, hydrate frequently, and stretch daily.
Get all of the changes I have planned for this space up and running.
Don't lose my reading habit as things pick up a bit for the fall!
Continue putting pieces in place for the big projects I'm dreaming up!
When possible, take the day off when Michael has a day off (his schedule is much less predictable than mine) to just enjoy together. Maybe this way we'll actually go on the hike we've been talking about for the past couple months!
Now it's your turn! What are some of your goals?
